Renowned as the co-founder of influential electro bands And One and Pakt, Chris Ruiz emerges once again onto the musical landscape with his latest endeavor, Crushing State. A mastermind in the realm of electro-industrial metal, Ruiz's journey began in 1988 when he first delved into crafting industrial-sounding tapes and an unreleased full-length album. Fast forward 25 years, and the seasoned musician and producer felt compelled to revive his sonic creation, breathing new life into a project that had long been dormant.
In the spirit of evolution, Ruiz made the decisive choice to transform Crushing State from a solo venture into a fully realized band. Teaming up with accomplished collaborators, he enlisted the talents of sound wizard Mathias Thürk (ex-Minerve, Seadrake), guitarist Andre Feller (Dreadful Shadows, Solar Fake), and drummer Vincent Viebig. This collective synergy marked the commencement of an exciting chapter as they collectively embarked on the journey of crafting new songs and exploring fresh musical ideas.
Crushing State's sound promises to be a dynamic fusion of electro-industrial, metal, and a nuanced sonic palette, reflecting the diverse influences of its accomplished members. The stage is set for a compelling musical odyssey, with the first official release slated for the spring of 2024. As anticipation builds, Crushing State invites listeners to join them on this immersive sonic expedition, where the echoes of the past meld seamlessly with the innovation of the present.
